The Federal Government needs revenue (funding) to carry out its business, Constitutional Mandates.

Currently the Federal Government obtains this revenue primarily through income taxation. Income taxation is primarily imposed on individuals. Yes, there is corporate income taxation, however, all corporations must pass that cost along to its customers in the price of its products and services. The great bulk of Federal Revenue is from individual income taxation.

If you are industrious and productive and earn a good income from your efforts, the federal government taxes you more. If you earn income by producing things and services the population wants, you are taxed more! It is often called "taxation on production". The better you produce, the more you are taxed. This just doesn't seem fair. This is tantamount to punishment for being productive.

If you are lazy and not productive, the federal government taxes you less. Rewarding you for being non-productive!!!

So consider an alternative: taxation on consumption; the more you spend to buy/consume stuff that is produced (things and services) the more you are taxed. That is: He who consumes and spends more, pays more taxes. Think about that a little bit; who spends more, rich or poor?

It's called a National Retail Sales tax "NRST", to REPLACE ALL federal income taxation.
